Many reports describe fast onset and strong effects. Interestingly, Shakti's overall Total Psilocin Equivalent (TPEQ) often lands in the average range on lab tests. What stands out in the data is the unusually high level of free psilocin. We're curious whether this contributes to the rapid, intense come-up many describe, even when total potency numbers look average.

"Hey. Wanted to reach out and let you know how the Shakti trip went. I'm glad you told me that 2g of it is more like 4 or 5 of golden teacher, because it was a pretty intense trip. And it did go from 0 to 100 very fast, I think I had it timed to about 25 minutes or so that I was full on. I saw a lot of geometric, Aztec like, shapes and images for the first hour. Grounding facts and what the chemotype suggests
Psilocybin is a prodrug. When consumed, it is rapidly converted by phosphatases in the gut and liver into psilocin, the active compound that binds 5-HT2A receptors. Native psilocin already present in the mushroom does not require this conversion step and can become available more quickly.
Typical onset for dried Psilocybe cubensis falls between 20–50 minutes. Laboratory results for this Shakti batch show:
By comparison, many potent cubensis chemotypes show high psilocybin (>15 mg/g) paired with very low native psilocin (<1 mg/g).
For a 2 g dried dose, this Shakti batch delivers roughly 4.26 mg of ready-to-act psilocin immediately, while a high-psilocybin/low-psilocin chemotype would deliver only about 1 mg of immediate psilocin at the same weight.
This raises a clear question: Does Shakti's elevated native psilocin help explain the fast, intense early geometry many people report with this strain?
The higher level of native psilocin creates a plausible front-loaded effect. A meaningful portion of the active compound is available right away rather than waiting for full conversion of psilocybin. This could produce a quicker rise in circulating psilocin and contribute to the rapid onset and strong early visual phase that appears consistently in reports.
At the same time, several factors limit how strongly we can draw this conclusion:
Minor tryptamines such as 4-HO-T are present only at trace levels and are unlikely to drive primary effects at the quantities involved. The overall combined potency of this batch is average, so the distinctive character many describe appears to come more from the ratio and delivery shape than from unusually high total strength.
Taken together, the chemotype offers a reasonable mechanistic explanation for faster, more front-loaded experiences, but the evidence remains suggestive rather than conclusive.
This is exactly why structured community input matters. The more reports we gather that include preparation method, precise timing to first effects, and visual intensity, the better we can test whether this pattern holds across batches and users.
